Childhood And Child Marriage

Childhood And Child Marriage

What does it mean to be a ‘girl’? In our society, the identity of a woman is closely associated with the men in her life, starting with her father. When a girl is born, the happiness of her birth in her immediate family varies with respect to the birth of a boy. People with daughters are pitied, and bringing up a daughter is considered to be like watering a plant which is not going to give you shade or fruit. As a result, girls grow up with a temporary membership within their own surroundings, often refused her basic child rights, quality education, healthcare, and basically a good life.
